Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seeds
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 large can (28oz.) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. water (optional)
Instructions
Saute ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Drain grease. Add all remaining ingredients. Simmer covered for at least 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. If the sauce is to thick add 1/2 c. water. Serve over spaghetti noodles. To with shredded Mozzarella cheese. For added flavor substitute 3/4 lb Italian sausage for an equal amount of beef.
